Occasionally crashes when changing areas. Have not lost any meaningful progress. The worst so far is having to replay a dialog.
A few hours in, and everything works great, if you can put up with the occasional crash. Have not experienced two crashes in a row, yet, which would prevent progress. I have graphical settings maxed out, and it's smooth enough for me, though I admit that I'm not picky in this regard. Heckuva lot of fun to play.
Couldn't swear that any of those launch options are required; they didn't seem to make much difference to me.
Character creation works; EAC still impedes
Still get "Connection registration did not arrive in time: DistributionManagerConnectedMsg" just like in the open beta.
Still borked by EAC for newest beta (Sept. 2021)
Just confirming that nothing has changed between the last open beta and the current one. World selection and character creation works. Can queue for entry into the world, but at that point Easy Anti-Cheat kills the joy.
The music's nice, though.
Infrequent stutter usually on movement; not too unexpected and easily ignored.
Proton-6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Everything works great with Proton-6.21-GE-2, latest GloriousEggroll release as of this writing. Would do best to download and use that, since cinematics do not work with current Proton Experimental.
Game installs, runs, saves, restores. Will update this report if problems arise later in gameplay.
It's perfect. Has been for years.
I do have trouble running this with non-standard Proton versions (like GloriousEggroll). That said, there's nothing that this game seems to need from a non-standard version. Cut-scene cinematics, combat, music, MMO-ness, and everything else works great.
Reticle very, very tiny and often difficult to find even in Ep. 1, which otherwise works. Input inconsistently detected in main menu, options menu, when quitting, and otherwise. Input nonexistent in Ep. 2
Unable to progress past Ep. 1, which worked fine. As others have mentioned, Ep. 2 loads, but no input is recognized and pointer reticle disappears entirely. Positioning pointer over what I guess it the in-game computer's power button by first hitting escape (at which point the reticle becomes visible) does not work. I believe the pointer is not just invisible but unmapped entirely.
