Apart from having to remap controllers (a common issue in most racing/simulation titles) the game itself worked perfectly.
Input:Controller Mapping
Logitech G29 was not detected as a logitech device, but it was detected as a generic controller. After mapping the buttons/axis manually it worked fine. FFB also works without any additional tinkering.
If having problems with this device (Logitech g29), I can recommend debugging it with jstest-gtk

Unfortunately with various fixes/workarounds listed here and steam forums, I was unable to get the game to launch.

With all default settings, was able to start up and play without any issues, including transferring a save from a Windows system.
