Have not tried launch options as of now.
In my personal experience it runs as well as in windows.
Sometimes the framerate drops. Restarting the game helps (occures while playing GTA Online)
I experienced the infinite social club loading bug once. Redownloaded and installed the game to fix it.
Fresh install. Downloading the Game via the STO Launcher does not work.
Launcher opens with Proton 6.3-8, 6.19-GE1, 6.21-GE2. After a few minutes the download status shows 0.1 to 9% and then gets stuck. Let it sit over night as well. Internet connection is good. Tested by starting a steam download in parallel.
Tried installing the launcher via Lutris - same problem. Tried installing the Arc launcher via Wine - same problem.
Voices were not being played.
Had an occasional freeze. Skyrim would take 1 core to 100% and not do anything else. Waited several minutes without it continuing.
Soundproblems were fixed using "WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=90 %command%" as starting parameters. Newer xaudio2_8 did work with proton 5 as well. Reverted to 4.11-13 as of freezes. Did not experience any further freezes as of late.
For campaign gameplay the native version is more reliable.
Experienced stutter on the campaign from time to time.
Experienced frequent freezes in campaign mode.
Unfortunately DLCs are published later for the native version.
