Pre-rendered cinematics were running at about 10 to 15 fps whilst level data was loading in. Once in game play I was getting 40-60 fps with most details on high.
You have to run it with Proton 5.13-1 or newer
Launches fine but gets stuck on 'Initializing'. This most probably has to do with the Rockstar Social Club DRM not launching.
I found no issues during the first couple of levels, however during the couple of times I started the game I found that I had to press the 'Home' button to access the Rockstar Social Club features, then it would log into the Rockstar social club automatically and the game would load fine. Also when I attempted to change my graphics settings (it did start in 800x600 resolution with everything being low or off) I could not use my mouse, but was able to use keyboard no problem.
Installs BattlEye service but does not start it. Program hangs and needed to use htop to kill program.
Wired Xbox one controller did work but when i unplugged it and plugged it back into the same port it was not detected. Fixed by exiting and restarting the game.
Please see https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/3291#issuecomment-643547577 for info.
To get the game to play I first had to try and run it with the official Proton 5.0.9, then use the custom Proton version from https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/3291#issuecomment-643547577 and then update my graphics drivers as the performance with the driver I initially had was very poor (about 15 fps with low details @ 720p). Once I installed the 440.66.15 vulkan driver from Nvidia it improved drastically (40+fps with med/high details at 1080p)
The music seems to be a slight smidge or two delayed. This is likely a software issue as similar has been reported on Digital Foundry's youtuube video which is likely due to the initial implementation of iMuse.
