Particularly poor performance.
Sometimes the mouse cursor can't reach the top of the screen which is resolved by alt-tabbing out and back in again.
With all settings Low or Off, when I load a map it starts with 19 FPS and then deteriorates to 4-6 FPS.
Results were the same with Proton Experimental and Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1.
The main game still performs poorly but the experimental branch with their latest patches performs well for me now.
Rocksmith.ini changes:
* ExclusiveMode=0
* Win32UltraLowLatencyMode=0
* ScreenWidth=1920
* ScreenHeight=1080
Protontricks:
* protontricks 221680 sound=alsa
* protontricks 221680 winecfg
Wine configuration Audio tab changes:
* Input device: "In: Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter"
* Voice input device: "In: Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter"
* Speaker configuration: "Out: default"
Pavucontrol:
* Input Devices tab: I set Rocksmith Adapter volume slider to 74% otherwise the in game calibration would fail in perpetuity.
* Configuration tab: Set Rocksmith Adapter Profile to Off.
The Rocksmith Real Tone Cable was not detected within the game out of the box.
Initial problems were borked resolution (extremely zoomed in) and Rocksmith Real Tone Cable not detected in game. After these changes I played for about half an hour without any noticeable audio or latency problems. There is a negligible additional delay of roughly 20 seconds to get the Enter/Begin button after I launch the game that didn't happen before I applied the fixes. Haven't noticed anything else out of the ordinary so far. Proton version is Experimental. Thanks to the ProtonDB and GitHub community I can play this game again.
Crashes with JavaScript error.
Currently not working for me on Fedora 35. Tried Proton Experimental, 6.3-8, and Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1. Same result, JavaScript error. A guy in the forum says it works in Linux Mint.
This is the only solution that has worked for me so far. Found it thanks to a thread on PlayOnLinux discussing a similar issue with another game.
