Proton-6.5-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
Proton-6.5-GE-1
Ray tracing works with Nvidia 460.67 drivers and Linux 5.11.6-1 kernel, possibly works on older but I just made sure to update these. Then you need a more recent version of vk3d3-proton which will be in the recent versions of Glorious Eggroll. Not sure how far back will work, but Proton-6.4-GE-1 and Proton-6.5-GE-1 I know work.
Add to launch options: VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command% -dx12
My full launch options are: gamemoderun mangohud VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command% -dx12
Should run flawless if you have a nicer CPU than me. I7 3770k+ rtx3070 at 1440p maxed without ray tracing I get 70+ fps and with maxed ray tracing it was running like under 50fps but not tanking or stuttering. Felt smooth but not 60fps smooth. I'll try other version of GE to see if performance is better.
Missing audio fixed with proton experimental, I still get audio pop even with the pulse audio 60/90 launch commands.
Have to unplug controller to get mouse and keyboard prompts instead of controller prompts.
I got stuck on crashes with the taxi ride during The Heist mission.. I tried everything. Here is how I passed it: Ran on proton experimental, I set every graphic option to low and turned off everything possible, no vsync or frame limit, crowd density low, and resolution 1280x720 in windowed mode. In the end, maybe it just needs windowed mode? and this is my full launch options: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=1 gamemoderun mangohud %command% --launcher-skip
Saw a lot of people getting stuck here so I wanted to say what worked for me... the rest of the mission you have to constantly toggle vision to be able to see because most of it goes black
For Playstation button prompts: https://github.com/Kaldaien/UnX/releases/tag/unx_010
Had a user on GE's discord help me figure this out. In order to get Playstation button prompts you will need to use an old version of SpecialK here: https://github.com/Kaldaien/UnX/releases/tag/unx_010 Extract all contents (4 files and 1 folder) into the main install directory with the FFX.exe and FFX-2.exe. Open the UnX.ini and change: Inject=true Also you can change the desired button prompts. For instance, I am using: GamepadIcons=PlayStation-Glossy.dds. Also if english is desired change: Voice=en SoundEffects=en Video=en Lastly open dxgi.ini and change: [NVIDIA.API] Disable=true
