Proton Hotfix was just updated to add a new env variable PROTON_HEAP_ZERO_MEMORY / WINE_HEAP_ZERO_MEMORY, game works on Proton Experimental but with the odd crash which mostly seem to be non-Linux specific crashes.

Gamescope won't load, game works well in their 'Borderless Window' mode
It was crashing constantly when hitting ESC or "O" for the social menu. This now appears fixed, but the menu will crash when certain settings are applied unless I hit ESC that gives a "unapplied changes" pop-up which I can hit escape to again at which point it seems that I can hit TAB to apply the changes without the game crashing. Matchmaking also appears to be fixed.
On the first load my resolution was stretching the 16:9 image across my 32:9 ratio screen.
NOTE: my friend experienced another commonly reported bug, the game can crash if you try to equip different armour and weapons directl after Basic Training and before your first full mission. The devs on discord recommended people play a full mission before switching gear and this seems to work.
All of my issues have been regarding initial installation, loading, and certain menus triggering crashes (now fixed). Have not expereienced any issues once in a game.
Crashed a couple of times on initial load but once it got in all the way, and since the menus fix, it seems to work without needing launch options (tested on Proton experimental-8.0-20240405-unstripped)
