Game doesn't launch properly with default installation options, or with Proton, even deleting the files in the save folder (like how other people recommend) doesn't fix the issue. But you know what did? Going to the Betas section in the Steam properties menu and selecting "linux32- 32-bit Linux (Legacy)". If you're having problems launching the game I recommend installing this version of the game.
game won't even start
I've tried everything. trying different launch methods and options, different versions of proton, I'm not sure why, but when I press launch, steam says the game launches but nothing happens and the button goes back to saying play. I have to play the game in windows, and I hate windows. If there's a way to create a log file to see where the game crashes (it doesn't even show the splash screen; it doesn't show anything.) then that might be useful, but as of now nothing is working besides switching over to windows.
okay ignore my previous report, I learned that you shouldn't run games installed to NTSC file systems on Linux. After reinstalling it to my Linux partition, the game runs as perfectly as it did on windows. I do have force Proton Experimental enabled but I don't think that matters.
