Tested on other versions of Proton & GE(with ASync) with the same issues
Only played zombies
Solo/Co-op custom zombies: For almost every custom map with loading videos (and other video files), the game will crash back to desktop. This is not an issue with the base maps and co-op loads with image.
Out of the custom maps played, the only intro cinematic that played properly was "Return to Das Herrenhaus" but on the same map, when using the teleporter, the teleport animation video crashed the game (Applies to Co-op as well).
To fix custom maps that don't load:
-Go to the workshop folder (steamapps/workshop/content/311210)-Search for the workshop map id and go into the "video" subfolder
-Delete the video(s) or rename them to disable playback in-game
By doing this the game should now load the map normally on a black screen; other videos (e.g., teleport animation, end video) will also be black.
Only played zombies & only played on PS3 controller
On some custom maps the game might crash 10-15 rounds in (needing to restart system), while other times on the same maps, it will run unterrupted.
(Video playback issue is still present here for end cutscene and teleporter animation. Same fix)
Can host as well as join lobbies
No input issues and no ADS bug (on PS3 Controller)
8 player workshop mod worked flawlessly
Additional notes
No noticeable performace differences between Experimental and GE; ran smoothly without gamemoderun and DXVK_ASYNC (GE), but would still recommend using them.Installed GOG version of game
Notes
-Newer versions of Proton have shader issues (most apparent being semi-transparent weapons)
-also works running through default wine; still runs better through Proton
