The native build is playable, but is far out of date compared to the Windows version. In almost all cases, the latter is recommended.
No problems here.
This game works just as well as it does in Windows. This is pure conjecture since I don't have a Steam Deck, but I believe this game would be best enjoyed in the desktop mode.
The only caveat is that fake windows are permanently enabled, and while there's a theme for Ubuntu's "Yaru", there is no theme for KDE Plasma's "Breeze" [which is the theme used in the Deck's desktop mode by default].
Replaced d3dcompiler_43.dll with the original Windows version
The main menu uses a radial blur effect which requires HLSL shader compilation. No one has implemented HLSL shader compilation in any version of Wine or Proton, and as a result, selecting anything in the main menu will instantly crash the game, making it unplayable. To fix the problem, d3dcompiler_43.dll must be replaced with the original Windows version of the DLL through Protontricks.
