Slight blur in some in-engine cutscenes at unintended points.
Didn't have any problems, but others claim wireless gamepads have issues with this game.
Just disable DXVK by running the game with the launch options above.
6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Game would not open in any default Proton build besides 3.16, but dealt with high CPU usage. Proton-GE worked just as well with much more reasonable CPU usage.
Game runs perfectly with the occasional crash, whereas the game crashes much more frequently on Windows.
Seemingly random infrequent crashes at certain points in-game.
The game infrequently freezes for a second or so when loading into some battles, but I think that's just part of the port itself. I'm using an older version of Proton-GE in order to use DXVK ASYNC with the game.
Borderless seems to crash the game on startup randomly
No need to go down a rabbit hole to play this.
High CPU usage (for a VN).
No real issues, outside of alt-tab crashing the game on fullscreen. Most Linux gamers shouldn't have an issue with it.
MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_limit=60+30 gamemoderun mangohud %command%
Game will sometimes crash on fullscreen if tabbed out of. Problem seems to be fixed by playing game in virtual desktop. Not sure if this is a Proton issue or whether the game is just like this on Windows, too.
Running protontricks 638970 winecfg and setting the virtual desktop to your screen resolution should work fine. No launch options are necessary, I just wanted to monitor performance and limit the frame rate.
Game runs perfectly out of the box. Requires a tiny amount of tinkering if you wish to use various patches.

Game would soft lock during chapter 11 using restoration patch
I highly recommend installing the Silent Patch for this game to reduce CPU usage, and the Y3 restoration patch to restore some content removed in this release. With the restoration patch, there were two versions of the directory data/auth/C11_0010 within the game folder. Remove the lowercase one and it should run fine.
For the Silent patch, setting the environment variable WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" allows the game to run with the Silent patch.

Game runs perfectly out of the box, but, like Y3, using certain mods and patches will improve the experience.

Some FMVs, like the opening, have severe artifacts, but the majority don't.
I installed the Silent Patch for Y4, which works so long as you set the needed environment variable, as well as the Y4 music/uncensor restoration patch, and a mod to fix quickstep distance. All worked fine.

A couple pre-rendered cutscenes have minor artifacts.
As many others have pointed out, sometimes the wrong audio will play for various cutscenes. I could not find a fix for this, I accessed cutscenes on YouTube when I ran into the issue instead. I'm not counting relying on YouTube as a fix.
Runs almost perfectly
Occasionally characters will render with darker skin, and there are occasional lighting issues. Not sure if a Proton issue or just with the game in general.
Game struggled to maintain 60fps, probably just my hardware being a bit dated
The newer engine is more taxing on old hardware compared to older Yakuza titles.
Runs perfectly, but make sure you patch the game to restore the licensed music.
The issues I dealt with on Nvidia, like broken lighting, weren't present on AMD for me with open source drivers.
Zero issues outside of the same alt-tab issues that Yakuza 0 deals with.
Game runs fine. At most, you may have to disable a graphics setting for a smooth experience.
Very odd lighting issues appeared in early in-engine cutscenes. Blocky rendering of shadows and the lighting being too dark. Disabling multi sampling seems to solve this.
Game softlocked once or twice when left paused during dialogue scenes.
Zero issues.
The issues I dealt with when playing the game earlier, like broken lighting at points, seemed to be an Nvidia issue and aren't present on AMD with the open-source drivers.
