Forgive Me Father
After each graphic settings change you need to reload the level otherwise you get low framerate. This is exclusive to GE's fork of Proton.
Tinker Steps:Custom Proton: Proton-7.0rc3-GE-1
Using Proton out of the box causes audio to crackle, GE's fork fixes this but you need to reload the level everytime you change some video settings. I also had to play with shadows on low, but given my hardware that could be the reason. Once everything is set up you should be good to go!

Everything worked great out of the box, no tweaks needed, just hit install and play! Tried single and multiplayer, and it was all okay.
