Good even without symlinking AFAIK.
Windowing:Other
Alt-tabbing before the main menu is fully loaded makes the window not responsive. Have to exit and restart game.
Performance:Slight Performance Problems
Had to set settings to low to get consistent ~50 FPS.

Runs with no tinkering, except switching to DX11 in the launcher options

Works really well with Proton 5.0.9. A bit laggy at times, mostly CPU bound. Proton 5.13-2 however led to much more frequent hard crashes.

Performance:Slight Performance Problems
CPU Usage very high in crowded environments or large boss fights. Might be engine related.
Instability:Occasionally
Very stable with 5.0.9, a crash every 100 hours roughly. Switching to 5.13-2 led to 3 crashes in an evening, will keep investigating.
