i don't understand why it runs so poorly given that other reports indicate it should be pretty good
Lots of stuttering to the point of being unplayable changeing from epic to high helped a little bit, but going further down did nothing
mouse will jump arround sometimes with some minor stutter in game, its annoying when under attack, but playable
seems to be worse under vulkan
game would go into a black screen with directX and would crash after initial video with vulkan under both proton 8.0-2 and 7.0-6, however i then started it with 5.13-6 and it shown a new window after initial video asking if i wanted which driver to use (DirectDraw or Vodoo Glide) i picked Direct draw and my graphics card instead of Microsoft Direct draw thing (i cant open it again to see what exactly the options were) after this it works properly except for the audio and i could even switch back any proton version
i'd recomend going into the Controller layout tool (which is actually where you change graphics settings but is misslabeled) and switching aspect ratio to preserve original. the game creates two audio streams under pulse audio, one is the music and the other one is the game audio, i think music used to go away on the original game, so i muted it.
some background elements cut out on borders but i believe this to be due to my aspect ratio being 21:9 and must likely affects windows too
Clicking a text field causes the whole thing to crash, this renders you unable to host an online game, however you can join other games no problem (not that there are many players on the online any way)
reflections aren't as nice
sometimes when you alt+tab performance will drop and you have to restart the game
some times steam thinks rockstar is installed and ignores it, you will then get the unable to locate the Rockstar Games Launcher error message. you just have to install it inside the wine prefix yourself WINEPREFIX=/steamapps/compatdata/271590/pfx/ wine /steamapps/common/Proton\ 5.13/dist/bin/wine /mnt/ThiccBoy/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Grand\ Theft\ Auto\ V/Installers/Rockstar-Games-Launcher.exe
doesn't start with new update
Its not loading since today summer update came out today, it just says its running but nothing happens, tried with proton 5.13-6, 6.3-5, 5.21-GE-1 and 6.12-GE-1 with the same results on all of them
random crashes, not sure if its proton related or uhd being uhd
