No arch play
Works on Debian based distros but not on Arch even through Proton or native. Build must be .deb as an appimage build would work anywhere.
Native only works on Debian based distros as it is a .deb linux version. My old arch test didn't work since I installed the Linux version before activating proton. DO NOT install the linux version. Before downloading go to game properties and set it to run under Proton (Experimental) and then install. The .deb presence will bork the game even on proton. Don't know why. Just follow these rules and you will get into the game quickly.
It is possible to enjoy but this might make me dual boot.
Mostly just Anti-Aliasing issues but this games is always like that, just not this bad.
A lot of pauses as well as a few stutters.
Not major but the menu background and some Cinematics had major errors.
This is an easy fix.
There may be an issue with the Cinematics and the Menu but nothing major.
Half of the Pre-rendered Cinematics are borked but they can be skipped. You really shouldn't even be playing if you haven't seen the anime or read the manga but even then you should still get the rest of the story no problem.
There may be an issue with the Cinematics and the Menu but nothing major. It has major stuttering on driver 470 on the GTX1070 but driver 495.44 with proton 6.3-8 is a walk in the park.
This game always runs bad above low settings (even on windows)
The game used to not play cinematics but now it is as if I was playing it on a PS4 (Except for needing to lower settings but that is just an Nvidia Card on a horrible PC Port, still better than the Xbox One)
Until EAC Linux compatibility is enabled, this game will remain unplayable.
It worked perfectley for a few minutes until the EAC kicked in. Easy fix for the devs.
It had no Issues for me on Mint or even back on Ubuntu before I upgraded. I can confirm that Hot-swapping The Graphical API mid game will make it crash but on Linux I can do that as much as I want. Perfect.
If you can play without audio then ok. Just listen to The Sentry BGM on youtube while playing with or without audio in game.
No Audio at all but that is the only issue.
This game is a great example of how to make a 3D game on GNU/Linux. No .deb dependancies or Extreme GTK+x compatibility requirments for play
This game appears to work on any GNU/Linux. No compaitbility issues? This played perfect. A great example to dissprove the BS about Linux development being hard.
Runs perfect
Small texture pop-ins. Nothing major.
This plays on Linux better than windows. Windows has game breaking bugs and pop-ins on textures but linux only has the texture pop-ins. Linux 1 / Windows 0
Ran perfectly with minimal frame drops from the average.
My 1070 averaged 40-50 with some mixed low-medium settings. I don't think this game was intended for a 1070 but ran acceptable for me.
No longer works
-d3d11
I have 90 Hours of completley flawless gameplay. After the new update on October 26th for Program Courthouse, it no longer launches. It will sit there in Steam claiming it is launched but no Window will pop up and eventualy it crashes. I have tried Proton7 and it launches but cannot connect to Red Barrels Services. I tried re-installing, new proton versions, graphics driver reset and even contacted support only to be told I am screwed. Please Valve, do something with this. This game id Deck Verfied but won't work at all. I also tried Steam Flatpak to have the same results. All other games of mine work except for this. My launch options for -d3d11 are to keep it from running under d3d12 which causes major performance issues, I even tried disabling -d3d11 options to have the exact same issues. No launches. Borked!
The game forced 720p under the guise of Unsupported drivers.
The game was perfect besides the menu mouse. Typically want to use keyboard for this.
The game runs almost perfect. If ubisoft allowed Linux with the Anticheat we could fix the other issues.
