Recently, proton8 seems change something, it will cause fails when you launch game from none prefix, steam will display game status is "launching"

when you meet it, you can try this:

1. delete the prefix which is created by proton8 and kill all proton process
2. force starting game with proton7 to create prefix, this will allow you to enter the game normally
3. now youcan change to use proton8 or proton ge 8, if you want.
