Played through the intro and the first chapter. Runs perfectly out of the box without any tweak. Performance on my computer was between 30 and 50 fps on ultra 1440p.
Haven't tested on Windows for comparison, so I can't really compare.
Finished the game, everything ran perfectly, no issue beside a few freezes during walkthrough which required me to kill the game and restart it.
Runs perfectly if you have a save AFTER the intro movie (which is, to be honest, too long and pretty useless). The game only crashes if you launch a new game, so I'm guessing the movie is the culprit here.
First launch had a pretty long loading. Afterward, everything seemed to run fine. Played two hours, got between 60 and 80 fps. Some stutters when loading some shaders and areas, but nothing gamebreaking.
This might have helped : https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom
PS4 controller was weird at first, but going to game properties and switching "Steam Input Per-Game Setting" to Forced On fixed it.
Stutters when loading shaders and areas.
Weird bug with achievements : they seem to unlock every X seconds in-game, and you are prompted every time on the top left corner of the screen. Also, it seems on Linux, I can't unlock the achievement on steam (The game says I unlocked them, but steam doesn't.)
Improves framerate.

Lower fps when loading shaders and areas. Pretty short and not gamebreaking.
Achievements won't work with GloriousEggroll's Proton (I tried with Proton-5.2.-GE-2), this creates an issue in-game where you get your achievements every X seconds, and they never unlock on steam. Switching to default Proton fixed it, so use that one. Didn't notice any performance change.
Takes time to launch, but then everything runs perfectly. FPS between 48 and 60. Controller works. No issue detected whatsoever.
