Switched to mesa drivers for my RX5700XT and the game runs better than windows out of the box, with amdvlk drivers I had 10-15 fps.
Wile not viewing videos does take some joy from the story, I do not feel they are integral to follow it.
Videos does not play
On native I could not increase resolution beyond 1920x1440, switched to proton and it runs perfectly at 3120x1307 (not 3440x1440 my monitor supports)
As other users already found use: protontricks 1113000 -q lavfilters wmp9 quartz devenum
Start steam with "-steamdeck", else game crashes when trying to save (it creates save files on first launch, so it will crash)
Start steam with "-steamdeck" parameter, else cannot save. I also activated steamdeck beta, though not sure if needed.
Install directshow and cinepack for videos to work with the command: protontricks 207350 directshow cinepack
For controller to be detected you need to disable steam input. Also the controller drifts unless you use proton 4.2.9. Tested with PS5 controller via USB.
On many proton versions after installing cinepack + directshow the game closed after the intro videos. Without cinepack + directshow the game works just fine, just you will not see any video.
