With 8Gb RAM my PC freezes and do crazy things, now with 24Gb I can Play fine without problem
Don'y launch in Native Linux, change to Proton 6.3 after upgrade the Nvidia Driver to 510.60.02 only runs un Proton 6.3
some litle lag in areas of game but 98% playable
I'd tested in Proton 7.X but crashed after 30 min. Only with Proton 6.3 i could play at all!

In Linux i'd tried also Proton 7.X but crash after 30 min of game! Selecting Proton 6.3.8 runs great at all!

I can open the menu add a argument "Proton_no_D3D11=1 %command%" in the Steam launch options, But the game show Only the Menu, No Images, background and can't play whith the black screeam! Perhaps miss a dll component to render the image of the game.I need to Know about the workarrounds to Run this game in Linux, some user get play this game, but don't tells How to work! Please tell us how I can run this game.I try install whit "protontricks" (WMP11/DirectX11/) but not works. Try many Proton versions and nothing! Seams that this game need a "W7SP1" dll to run, nut i can't install it with Proton.
Runs great in new Ubuntu version and Nvidia driver 470. No workarround are necessary, just put the Proton 6.3.8 and enjoy
after enter in the game, you must disable the verticalsync in menu to increase the FPS. Or limit to 60fps!
Runs great like RE2 uses the same engine put proton 6.3.8 and enjoy the fun!

Just install, runs a game and go to Setup change the Limit 60fps to 30fps and all be fine!
Only need to Limit a FPS in Game Setup in 30FPS. In 60FPS the game seams in slowmotion!

FPS limited in 60 no option to turn off vertical sync!
you don't can disable the vertical sync that way, the FPS is locked in 60fps no mather that video card do you have!
edit the file local_config.ini to gain raytracing acess
Some Lags and crash one time but playable during 2 hours!
You must add 16Gb RAM to play RE4 fine! Before my PC whith 8Gb cannot runs Re4 that freezes in load the game!

Select only Proton 5.0.10 in Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. I've tried many others without sucess even if Wmp11 already install i get the same Black screen! Run the Game for the First Time to generate AppID for Proton. Now close the game and go back to terminal.Like other users I got permission issues in this profile, seams that Proton 5.0.10 has a litle bug that prevents the acess to Windows Folders, so I did run this in terminal: chmod 777 -R ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/221040/pfx/dosdevices/c:/windows/* After this,Run the follow code in terminal: protontricks 221040 -q wmp11 It will take some time, you can see some information in slow speed, take a patience until the process end, about 2 minutes... Finally is done, the game Works perfect after all

- Download the WMP11-64 to WinXP
- Extract the cab File to generate two .exe files
- Install using protontricks ( you can use command line shell) and type "wine wfmdist11-64.exe" and after "wine wmp11-64.exe" in order to install WMP11 pack
- After this you can start the game and everthing will be fine, a CGI of Capther 1 will open and you can start the game!

You must install wmp11 like other versions of Resident Evil 6/ Revelations 2 and 5,etc. WMP11 play all cinematics and menu of game
