The reason I use the listed Launch Options is because the FOV is fixed at 85 and this made me sick. The only fix I found online was to use "Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden FOV changer" by RoseTheFlower (https://github.com/RoseTheFlower/UltrawideIndex/releases/tag/banishersfov), which needs to be launched after the game is launched to then use it and must be ran inside of the same prefix. If you don't need/want to change the FOV, then go ahead and ignore my listed Launch Options.
After figuring out how to resolve the background stutter and screen tearing this game is perfect!
RADV_PERFTEST=aco gamemoderun %command%
Changed the options.txt file (location: ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/219990/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Grim Dawn/Settings/) as listed below:
UPnPEnable = false forceSingleProcessorMode = false maxResourceThreads = 8
NOTE: maxResourceThreads needs to match the physical cores. Default was 1.
Screen Tearing (only in the upper 1/8 of the screen) and background stutter until ensuring the monitor (144Hz native) was set to 120Hz and then applying the changes to options.txt.
gamemoderun %command%
Even though I could select my full screen resolution of 2560x1440 at 144hz, I am not sure if it was actaully taking advantage of that as it was locked 30fps.
Plays rock solid through Proton. Dev team plans to release a Linux native version in the near future.
"Select the default wineprefix" and click ok. "Install a Windows DLL or component" and click OK Select the "vcrun2022" package and click OK
NOTE: You might get other errors, but the Demo (available during the October 2023 Steam Next Fest) will play fine after this is installed.
Textures would load in a bit late. This was during the October 2023 Steam Next Fest demo though, so I would hope the final game doesn't have this issue.
Sometimes in the menus a Controller D-pad was ignored, but this is a known issue in the demo.
Seemed to run with no frame cap, so the GPU was at 99% the whole time and sometimes I would see a "hitch" but otherwise was very smooth. This was during the October 2023 Steam Next Fest demo though, so I would hope the final game doesn't have this issue.
This report is only for the Demo out during the October 2023 Steam Next Fest. There are graphics settings for Steam Deck, so I am hopeful there won't be need for protontricks with the full release. I wanted to provide this post for the DEMO version for anyone else looking to play it before full release, and who knows maybe this will be helpful post-release too.
“Select the default wineprefix” and click OK Select “Install a Windows DLL or component” and click OK Selected and install “vcrun2022” Then you will also want to select and install “mspatcha”

Also when the tutorial videos would repeat they looked to be in a different codec as it would be greenish and not display correctly; initial tutorial video plays fine.

Needed to turn off Lumen lighting and Set to mostly Medium (High with FSR2) to get a solid 120hz. Was always about 60Hz unless Lumen was turned on even at Epic. GPU would go to 99%.
