Works out of the box
The game messes with game files. Some will become corrupted or missing. That is a feature of the game, it's expected.
Runs well out of the box
audio is sometimes slightly choppy or ends too soon
Weird shadow artifacts around certain objects and in certain scenes - might just be a bug in the game itself, I haven't played this on Windows, so I can't compare
It has some flaws, but that might just be bugs in the game in general and not just the Linux version.
Works flawlessly out of the box
Slow loading of scenes compared to the other half-life 2 games
-USEALLAVAILABLECORES
-USEALLAVAILABLECORES is not needed, but gives a slight FPS boost (1-2 FPS in my case), I advise against using -dx12 command, as it resulted in a significant drop in frames for me (drop from average 55 to average 45)
Generally runs somewhat worse than on Windows, in a heated battlefield, I get about 30-40FPS on Low graphics, 1440p, Nvidia RTX 2060
-vulkan
Use -vulkan in launch options. Without it, the game has issues setting the right resolution, aspect ratio and scaling and will just not be playable. With -vulkan it works flawlessly
Works fantastic out of the box
The only issue encountered is that the game doesn't detect the screen resolution correctly, so you have to set it manually in the settings, but after that it works great. Could be an issue on Windows as well.
