EA Removed Linux support for the anti-cheat
Left click doesn't work, Right click does
This was in Wayland, a black window spawns with the character confined on the window, left clikc doesn't work so you can't interact with the character at all, but it opens and shows the character at least.
Seems that we would still need to wait for a working buddy in Linux
-nobattleye
I was getting kicked when trying to play the game online
I'd recommend using -nobattleye argument since battleye doesn't do anything on Linux as Rockstar didn't enable it, this will also allow you to mod the game.
Game runs but crashes, both on Proton Experimental and Proton GE, appears to be due to an unimplemented call.
-nobattleye
The call in question appears to be the following one according to running Steam from terminal: "wine: Call from 00006FFFFFFA3A58 to unimplemented function USER32.dll.GetDpiAwarenessContextForProcess, aborting". I suppose we'd need to wait until Proton is updated for support on this call.

Can't play online due to the anti-cheat
Rockstar still lies about the Steam Deck/Linux not supporting BattlEye and is unlikely they'll be enabling Linux support anytime soon, is very unfortunate but so far that's the current status of GTA Online, Single-Player works as expected, even with RayTracing though.
