Use steam launch options to load workshop mod, you can try to start from launcher, and then check the compact data directory for arma3 log file, full command line in the log file. Replace \ to \ to make it work in launch options
Launcher can't detect workshop mod if arma3 is installed in SD card, install in internal SSD is fine.
You need to go to setting and enable controller
In OS 3.4.2 you need bind L4 and R4 to alt and enter key. Once in game it would be black screen with sound and you need to press that combination.
Or you can go preview channel to 3.4.3
After switch to 6.3.8. Go to save folder modify config so you can 1280x800 rather than 720. There are two set of number to change.
Also the newest version won't work with 6.8.3 But if you only play offline like me you can downgrade to this version by manually download steam depot ( tons of guide on that)
There is also a guide to increase swap file to 8gb on newer version so it won't crash for a few hours. Haven't try that.
As other said use proton tricks for direct play and direct music. But there is a order. By default proton tricks use current version of wine that set in your game compatibility to do the install. But it won't work for 5.10. You will get error like "echo app data folder and get fsync is running".
You can't install on 7.04 or above because in 5.10 it has full copy of the directx file but in 7.04 it switch to symbol link where proton tricks won't have write permission.
If you switch proton version and run the game. It will replace the files in the compdata folder.
So here is the order. First set to 5.10, run game once so compdata have 5.10 files. Then switch to proton 7 in settings but don't run the game. Run proton tricks to insert direct play and music. ( it will use wine 7 to do this). After that done, run the game. At this point steam will try to replace file to 7.04. But it will leave the file you installed alone so it is no longer the symbol link version.

Rename or delete movie files, install chinese locale in steam deck by doing this
sudo steamos-readonly disable sudo pacman-key --init sudo pacman-key --populate archlinux sudo pacman -S glibc sudo sed -i "s%#zh_CN.UTF-8 UTF-8%zh_CN.UTF-8 UTF-8%" /etc/locale.gen sudo locale-gen sudo steamos-readonly enable
Map in game keys
If you zoom, there are artifacts in bottom half of screen. Default view is fine.
You can also search for "steam deck install japanese locale" and replace ja_JP to zh_CN to learn how to install chinese locale
