Had issue with older release of Proton GE and with native steam proton version (never succeed to even open the game), but since the latest release Proton-6.0-GE-1 all works perfectly.
as i said with minimal resolution the max FPS I was able to get is 35-40 fps
lowest the resolution is better is the fps, the max I got is 35-40 FPS, still we will need to find a solution to play max resolution at a resonable framerate

(Used dgVoodoo2) Download dgVoodoo2 here (http://dege.fw.hu/dgVoodoo/dgVoodoo/) Then copy pasted the .dll files from MS/x86 folder to steamapps/common/BattleRealms Then added the following flags on the launch options

I run the game at 144fps, never before that i achieve that
