The game does work with normal controller inputs, but it's not as enjoyable as using the trackpads as a mouse in my opinion. I made a layout called BH Deck v2 I think (by me, Reflekks). It uses the trackpads as a mouse and the back buttons open the map and end your turn.
all low settings, 100% scale, economy vsync, 30fps, 5W tdp = good graphics and 5-6 hours of battery life
I'm not sure why so many say to use Proton Experimental. It made it look like someone smeared Vaseline all over my screen. Steam's default settings were great, but you can tweak the game's settings to perform however you like. It's capable of 60fps, but looks great with low settings, 100% scale, and 30fps if you want a good looking game and lots of battery life.
able to use both trackpads and joysticks to move to increase comfort
5W TDP max
Game does dip down to 20-30fps towards the end of a run, but it does not take away from the game at all.
