Ran great other than audio crackling and stuttering at beginning of several cut scenes.
Slight stuttering at beginning of some cut scenes.
After install, got error that Steam could not find executable GNOG.exe
. Solved by creating symlink from GNOG.exe
to the actual executable GNOG.x86_64
(or something like that) under $HOME_DIR/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/.
Once necessary dependencies have been installed using `protontricks`, game runs without a hitch.
$ protontricks 42910 dotnet35sp1 xna31
Barely noticeable crackling.
Videos missing/not playing
very low framerate
Playable with Proton-GE, but may need to be occasionally restarted to deal with some missing graphics and lagging.
When playing back Rushes, the audio-video sync is hit-or-miss.
Some videos started to not show or flicker in and out. Restarting the game seems to fix this.
Serious lagging below the requested FPS. Had to set FPS to 30 and enable Vertical Sync. Some settings didn't stick so had to set them multiple times. Also needed to restart the game between settings changes to actually fix the lagging.
No issues other than missing textures for loading screen and a minor issue (for me) with keyboard input.
It seems like there are some missing loading screens which show a black screen instead; simply skipping the screens by pressing any(?) button works fine, and this doesn't degrade actual gameplay.
I was having an issue with up arrow not registering for Dodge/Roll.
Side note: This game is a brawler. I would recommend using a controller. Thus, even though I was having one issue with using my keyboard to play, I would not recommend using a keyboard to play this game, so this was not much of an issue for me.
Framerate started out fine but dropped to 10-20 FPS after entering and exiting inventory
Game runs great as long as you don't run into the crackling audio issue.
Extremely noticeable crackling on startup once. Fixed by restarting.
Note: Every time game is played, Steam will run first-time startup and say it's installing .NET Framework. Adds on to startup time, but not much for me.
Normal problems with tiling window managers and Steam games: does not properly switch between windowed mode and fullscreen mode. No issues when running in GNOME.
Normal problems with tiling window managers and Steam games: mouse does not correctly track with position on screen. No issues when running in GNOME.
Fix for initial launch: Manually uncheck ALL DLCs and run the game, then manually exit and add the DLCs back. I did them in small batches, but you can likely just add them all at once--the bug is likely with trying to launch the game with DLCs pre-loaded, so once the base game has launched once, the problem is likely fixed.
