Runs just as good as you would expect, requires some tinkering to get mods working though
gamemoderun DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 %command%
Some occasional slowdown for no apparent reason but that could be because this game favors intel CPUs
Mods and Maps downloaded from the workshop do not work if the game isn't installed from your main drive, but i have a fix for that :)
Go to the folder on your second drive where you have Black Ops III installed, create a symlink from that folder to ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/
Next look for a file called appmanifest_311210.acf
cut and paste that file to ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/
And now inside ~/.steam/steam/steamapps
look for a file called libraryfolders.vdf, under the section likely marked "0", if not just look for the one that points to .local/share/Steam
in your home directory.
Open the appmanifest file from earlier back up and look for an entry called "SizeOnDisk"
, copy that number and go back to libraryfolders.vdf, under the "apps"
section of your home dir library folder, type in "311210"
, press tab twice then paste the number from "SizeOnDisk"
, surround it with quotes if there aren't any.
We just tricked steam into thinking BO3 is on our main drive :3
Game functions and works fine, but shadows don't render at all
The game functions fine out of the box on this craptop but, with the shader level set to low, medium, or high the game's models and textures to flicker and glitch out, also the dynamic shadows aren't working at all, no matter what you do to the game's settings
Running the game in fullscreen, in any other resolution other than your native res makes the game zoom in and not show the full game.
