MESA_VK_WSI_PRESENT_MODE=fifo %command%
The game's builtin vsync doesn't perform well for me. It limits to ~45fps on a 60fps screen. When disabling vsync the PC is able to put out 120fps and more. Can be fixed with a small workaround - see below.
Try to disable the builtin vsync if you get lower than expected framerate.
Instead, you can enable vsync on the free Mesa drivers using a launch parameter:MESA_VK_WSI_PRESENT_MODE=fifo
If you're not using Mesa and want to limit your framerate to save battery and/or prevent tearing, you can limit it through DXVK instead:DXVK_FRAME_RATE=<your-fps>
There are now two ways to prevent the game from crashing
As others have previously pointed out: You need a patch to any Proton version that's out at the release of the game
Much more convenient: You must start Steam on your Linux machine using "steam -steamdeck" Steam will redownload itself to the same version used on the Steamdeck. Once you start Persona, the crashing code will not be called and you can immediately game.
