After exiting the bat computer the game would drop to a few FPS for a few seconds.
Beside occasional crashes the game works great on 3440x1440 out of the box.
Changing lunching options didn't help but after renaming BorderlandsGOTY.exe to Launcher.exe the game started. I experienced flickering once but it stopped. Works great on 3440x1440.

Changed DepthOfField to False in LOTDEngine.ini in game install dir
Some cutscenes would loose audio
Artifacts covering the screen until I set "DepthOfField=False" in LOTDEngine.ini
The game would hang on black screen if I try to exit normally and I couldn't bring any app to show after that. I would have to ALT+TAB out of the game and then kill the game from the system monitor.
I used Proton5.0-6 and game mode and these launch options: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 gamemoderun %command% -nostartupmovies
