Error message "The client sent an invalid anti-cheat code". Can not continue to actually start playing
The intro ran very smoothly and I could see no glitches. The anti-cheat appears to be the cause of making it unplayable.
I tried with Proton 9.0-3 and Proton Experimental
Before the game starts you are presented with a small popup that asks if you just want to start playing or start with DirectX 12 ("Play Apex Legends (DirectX 12)"), I chose the DirectX 12 option - then processing the vulkan shaders took about 40minutes(!!!)
The games splash screen comes up and then after a few seconds crashes. Game cannot start.
Gets to launch screen then errors out with message stating it can't login and then shuts down
Game worked fine for quite some time. Now it's non-playable.
Since about December 2024 the game stopped working. I could start the game but once started and after a few seconds (maybe 30) crashes my entire xfce4 desktop. It kicks me out to desktop GUI login screen and when I log in it is as if it is my first excfe4 login - nothing (other than autostart apps) is running anymore.
Does not get past registration window
Every time I try to create a Rockstar Games Account I get the error: Sorry, we are unable to handle your request at this time. Without this step I cannot continue. Internet connection works fine.
