I couldn't connect to the servers but was able to play the game offline
It works for me! I preloaded the game yesterday and unpacked the game today when it was launched. After I started the game it installed everything without errors. Everything else works except I couldn't connect to the game server.
It is very early to say whether everything works correctly but I after I created the character and played in the starting room for a minute, I have no complains.
I'm playing on manjaro with everything updated, like you can see on my system info. I got no EAC warnings/errors! I will update this tomorrow after I've more hours in the game!
No stuttering. No bugs (yet). No crashes. The game runs about 50fps with my setup (4 core CPU at 4.9GHz, 1070 8gb, 3200mHz ram) with everything set to medium except shadows to maximum. I used mangohud to check frametime and it rarely fluctuates. Some areas drop the frames to 30fps. My bottleneck is my GPU, which is at 100% all the time. CPU usage, even though it's under requirements, rarely exceeds 60% usage.
The game is absolutely playable and I totally forgot I was running this on Linux machine. The only con as of now is that I cannot join the game servers, but that is not a big thing for me personally. I will update my review as I play more.
Sometimes when the game loads after dying, the game gets stuck to 100% load but won't let me play. It's not frozen since the menu can play animations, but I have to kill the game and won't lose any progress.
After 1 day of launch, the game let's me connect to the servers. I can see ghosts, bloodpools and messages. Haven't tried PvP or Coop
Game runs relatively smooth given my specs. Running everything on medium except shadows at maximum yields 30-60fps on any area. Slight stuttering on seemingly random places but nothing game breaking. GPU usage at 100% all the time and CPU usage at 60% most of the time. On these settings RAM usage is 9.5GB on open world areas while VRAM usage is 3.5GB. Frametime is mostly constant, stuttering for one frame about every 20-30 seconds, but nothing too major all things considered.
Loading game after dying gets sometimes stuck at 100% though restarting the game will not cause loss of progress.
Great experience. Beat all bosses during 100 hour playthrough. Rare black screen encountered
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
In my experience, there is about 20% chance that the game gets stuck on a black screen when a cutscene starts playing. So during my gameplay it happened about 5 times.
Nothing Linux specific since Windows users too lose connections during coop and invasions.
Frametime is more consistent than on launch. After day 1, I've had no problems occasionally playing online. My biggest fear was that there would be an unplayable area or boss during my playthrough but luckily that didn't happen and I in fact encountered less bugs/stutters than my peers on Windows.
.
When I started playing, a bug would sometimes cause loading screen to get stuck on 100% progress, but I haven't encountered that in some weeks so it was likely fixed. During my playthrough there would be about 1/5 chance that when a cutscene begins, the game would stuck on a black screen (not crash or freeze since it stayed on stable 60fps) and the only way was to kill the process. I never lost any progress because of these bugs so it was just a small time loss.
.
I played the game on medium except shadows on maximum and ran it 40-60 fps depending of the area and effects during battles. Never encountered hard stuttering or microfreezes. My GPU was definitely the bottleneck since it's usage was a constant 100% while CPU usage was about 70%. VRAM usage was about 3.5 GB during the whole playthough while RAM usage was about 10GB. I wouldn't recommend running any kind of GPU intensive tasks on background, like watching a stream since it botched my FPS, but I have a relatively old GPU.
.
I didn't need to do any kind of tinkering, except to use Proton Experimental, but wanted to try GE-proton and it also worked flawlessly. Gamemode made the frametime tiny bit more consistent. Thank you Steam for working with FromSoftware to give us a great gaming experience on Linux!

During my 12H playtime on Steam, it has frozen once when checking browser and later returning focus to it.
Feels as smooth as on Windows.

During 10 hours of testing, has crashed maybe once or twice
Game feels just as smooth as on windows 10
Works very smoothly and doesn't kick Linux players anymore. No Linux specific bugs encountered.

Frame time was jumping all over the place before using Gamemode
No bugs / problems encountered.
This review is mainly about multiplayer since I haven't played a lot of single player campaign on linux. Using gamemode on my machine was absolutely necessary or the game would microstutters. After enabling it the frametime got a lot smoother and gameplay wasn't hindered at all compared to Windows. The game never crashed or kicked me for using Linux. So far an excellent experience!
If you want to play in multiplayer don't. It's borked for now. Worked fine for past 2 years but not anymore
In multiplayer there is about 50/50 chance that it will either run very smoothly as in Windows or the frametime jumps all over the place and is absolutely unplayable. I guess it has something to do with anticheat as it can only happen in multiplayer.
Since May I have been unable to join multiplayer. When trying to login, it says "Login Failed: Could not connect to server". Changing proton version doesn't help
On first run the frametime is horrible after logging in. Logout and start again it will work fine

MULTIPLAYER ISSUE: on first launch the framerate is super inconsistent. Unplayable

Game runs on equal performance as on Windows. Crashes occasionally with error: ERR_GFX_STATE
mangohud gamemoderun %command%
Crashes randomly with error: ERR_GFX_STATE. Have not tried to fix it yet. Happens with both Nvidia drivers 470 and 510
Game runs perfectly with up-to-date drivers except for the occasional crashes. Crashes happen once per 2 hours on average, but can happen more or less frequently. Crashes have occured only on missions, though that might be a coincidence. I have not yet tried to fix it. Proton-7.1-GE-2 doesn't fix the problem.
Ran perfectly out of the box.
No complains on my end. I didn't encounter any frame drops or stuttering on stock version of Proton which at the moment is 7.0

The game works perfectly and ootb with latest Glorious Eggroll Proton. No complainments here
