Audio will sometimes break up, but has only been in cinematic scenes so far
Decent ping but has had some sync issues on occasion. Party members rubber banding or snapping to locations. Has not been a big deal
The game runs and overall experience is better than on Windows. Playing on Windows has forced acceleration that is pretty bad. Nowhere to be seen playing on Linux. There is also an issue with the taskbar constantly showing up and disappearing when going from menus, to the game, to loading screens. very annoying and does not happen with Linux either ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Switched to Proton 4.11-13
Runs well at 1440 max settings. All other Proton versions, the game would either not launch at all or crash after changing resolution from default to 2560x1440. Proton 4.11-13 works great, no noticeable lag or slowdown. Not sure if it's the game itself or because of Proton but (minor issue) when going from ADS to hip there seems to be a significant drop in sensitivity for about a thenth of a second.
Works out of the box with Proton Experimental (so far)
Set everything to Ultra/max settings at 1440 and turned off motion blur. Some stutter after loading but only lasted <5 seconds. FPS goes from 80-200 depending on the area. With no major changes in scenery there can be ~20 FPS fluctuation, but mostly unnoticeable. Great experience so far for casual gaming. Will update if there are any changes (good or bad) after more time playing.
The game would load and would be able to get through game creation but would freeze while loading. Putting this in the launch options got it to work: PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command% -useembedded
