"EA Anti-Cheat" has Broken Battlefield V on Linux Indefinitely
As of April 2024, EA has enforced the use of their kernel-mode, in-house "EA Anti-Cheat" software to play Battlefield V. As long as EA insists on this "solution", you can expect Battlefield V on Linux to be permanently borked.
After installing Battlefield V on Linux and attempting to run it the first time, it will begin installing "EA Anti-Cheat" and subsequently fail to run Battlefield V with the following pop-up message:
"The program encountered E111000B at 0001D9B during initialization. Wine is not supported!"
VRC PRO runs flawlessly out-of-the-box on Linux with a Spektrum DX6C transmitter using its built-in USB port--no USB dongle needed.
The Spektrum DX6C transmitter must be powered on before connecting to the Linux PC over USB. The "calibrate" button within the control settings doesn't do anything, but calibration can effectively be performed in-game by adjusting the "steering saturation" and "accelerate/brake saturation" control settings behind the "customize" button.
