VRC PRO runs flawlessly out-of-the-box on Linux with a Spektrum DX6C transmitter using its built-in USB port--no USB dongle needed.
The Spektrum DX6C transmitter must be powered on before connecting to the Linux PC over USB. The "calibrate" button within the control settings doesn't do anything, but calibration can effectively be performed in-game by adjusting the "steering saturation" and "accelerate/brake saturation" control settings behind the "customize" button.

Small artifacts in text(lines)

Select Xbox 360 controller then customise to map R1/L1 as accelerate and brake.
Menus and racing text difficult to read.
Difficult to map all buttons needed without keyboard.

Game loads but in linux (or chromeos) cannot use the RC RX to USB adapter.
Edited the udev ruules for Steam controllers to try and get the RC RX to USB working (unsuccessfully)
This game does require additional hardware (namely an RC transmitter and an adapter to get transmitter connected to the computer as a controller). Without this, the game is not playable as intended. In a dual-boot test into windows, the game and controller work as expected. In linux, the hardware is detected by the system:
[ 3491.123919] usb 3-8: New USB device found, idVendor=04d8, idProduct=005e, bcdDevice= 0.01

However, it is never seen in-game for use. Because of this, the game cannot have a gold rating.

Made R2/L2 as gas/brake
Small text
It works fine with a game controller but I could not get it to work with my PPM RC USB controller adapter.
Peferct Just works flawlessly
No custom tweaks for Proton are required.
If the game fails to load correctly the first time, exit and restart it. Once the updater window appears, click the wrench icon and click "Full Check." The game should start correctly afterwards. You only have to do this ONCE.
I've heard that Windows users also have to run the "Full Check" in some cases. This issue does not seem to be related to Proton.
Can't install .net framework because Proton uses 64 bit prefixes by default.

Attempts to install .net framework then does not launch game.
