Alt-tab for 4 to 5 minutes and the game seems to freeze up in fullscreen mode. But In borderless mode, the game works great.
Open Match work great out of the box. Can't try Ladder Match for now, but will try after seasons 5 avaliable.
Using Proton-GE seems to solve the problem of BGAs not working. Other than the problem with Alt-tab in fullscreen mode, this game now runs perfectly.
Alt-tab still freeze the game in fullscreen mode.
Season 5 is now open and Ladder Match (Player Versus) work as expect.
After season 5 update the game still works as expeted.

The game runs exceptionally well with GE-Proton7-55, maintaining maximum target FPS and dropping to around 70-80 FPS in more demanding areas. While reading various posts in this page, I discovered that using MangoHUD for monitoring can introduce some stuttering. Switching to DXVK_HUD resolved the stutter and allowed the game to run smoothly and flawlessly.
