The game runs flawlessly out of the box on a Linux PC. With the extra tweaks, I have experienced no problems, slowdowns or crashes at all.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=645862676 For the first game, configuration and integration with AMR on Steam, as well as VorpalFix, which is very good and necessary for AMA Remastered to run well.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2565904373 For all the listed tweaks of Engine.ini. The only difference in my case is I increased PhysxGPUHeapSize further (obviously performance still tanks, but not AS bad.)
The game plays and runs quite well. MangoHud did not work for me, but I never bothered tryin to fix it, since the game is not that intensive. Sadly PhysX obviously mauls the framerate even on my card in intense situations (think 25 fps), but it's still worth turning it on from time to time to see how nice the game looks. It's a real shame so many of the effects rely on it and there is no alternative. Other than that, pretty much zero trouble. My regular On Steam Deck, there is a big with dynamic shadows that is fixable if you force the game to run in windowed by tweaking the ini in desktop mode, I believe, but that's the only real problem.
