Just install and run. Great job from the devs here
Doesn't launch on Proton 7, 8 and Experimental for some reason. Proton GE makes it laggy
-nojoy -novid -high -vulkan -nod3d9ex -noaafonts -w 1280 -h 1024 -fullscreen
Fullscreen windowed basically breaks mouse completely and Fullscreen mode has no in-game settings for resolution
Resolution can be changed in fullscreen mode, but the resolution of the entire display must be changed and the width and height changed in launch options.
Only works with one monitor - if more than one is enabled, it tries to launch on the wrong one and just breaks.
I created an alias to change the display settings to my desired resolution, disable my second screen and launch the game, and created another alias to reset the display settings manually after closing the game.
Often refuses to launch quite a few times (usually vulkan shaders refusing to skip pre-processing) before finally working.
-vulkan launch option may be obsolete I'm not sure
The state it's in with these modifications feels much better than windows tbh; game itself is still buggy as hell though
Native version scaled to the wrong resolution, which I was able to fix by entering windowed mode and changing fullscreen resolution, but native version also didn't exit fullscreen when pressing Alt+Tab and confined my cursor to the game area
All issues were fixed as soon as I switched to the proton version. I use the OpenGL option when launching the game as I figured it would improve proton performance slightly. Controller works great too (thanks to steam no doubt)
Game won't boot with standard proton or GE, Experimental works great though. Xbox multiplayer doesn't seem to work. The game's docs say that installing it from steam will also install the xbox app - I'm guessing that proton doesn't allow it to do so
Native version doesn't launch at all on Wayland, and crashes in the menu on X11. Switched to Proton and worked great. Worked fine initially on Wayland but after an hour XWayland flickering started to rear it's head so I switched to X11 and it worked great
-vulkan
Tries to launch across both monitors, doesn't work. -vulkan fixes (not sure why)
Runs perfectly on native, add -vulkan to launch options if you have multiple displays
Works excellently right out the box. My first time playing (have never tried on Windows) went very well and tModLoader also works perfectly.
Played multiplayer with a friend for a few hours and experienced very enjoyable gameplay
Only minor issue is that there doesn't seem to be a way to change the fps cap from 60 to 120; maybe this is possible with launch options.
Perfectly good native linux experience
Slightly lower fps than expected with my settings
Everything works as well or better than in windows, the only strange thing is that sometimes the game won't launch, and I have to switch proton on and off again in order to get steam to install the correct linux executable
Not sure if it's Linux-related but for some reason I can't get out of the zoomed-in aiming view (left shift)
Works well on both Proton Experimental and GE-Proton8-25
