Launch day, no patch, opened immediately and has been working flawlessly for hours. Amazing release.
Works perfect. Even with day 1 EAC.
Works flawlessly. The only issue i have had in around 100 hours has been the FPS counter not showing up. Using mango i see a solid 120FPS.
protontricks 35140 mdx d3dx9 d3dcompiler_43 win10
Would not run without the D3D launch options on my end.
Game would open, then the visible game inside the desktop box it was in would shrink down to a tiny box. Making it unplayable.
Needed to manually set the resolution here:
"/steamapps/compatdata/35140/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/Square Enix/Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY/BmGame/Config/UserEngine.ini"
When the first menu pops up, turn OFF fullscreen.
This allowed me to configure the screen after it booted. Worked perfectly since that.
Fullscreen would cause it to misalign on my desktop. In order to play I had to disable fullscreen from within the UserConfig.ini and the settings prior to the game launching.
Needs some tinkering in the config, but after that it launches just fine and works as intended. Offloading shaders to another folder and expanding the limit seemed to help quite a bit with stuttering in the overworld. YMMV.
I had no issues going online, playing ring matches, or playing world matches. Just worked out of the gate with current ProtonGE on Garuda.
EAC borks online
So you CAN play, this is what you must to. 1. Disable your internet connection 2. launch game 3. Game will launch in offline mode without EAC and the game will run just fine. Been playing for 2+ hours with no issues OFFLINE.
Otherwise, bleeding edge proton did not work for me, neither did the renaming trick. I MUST go offline in order to play the game. I simply disconnect from current wired connection, launch game, re-enable online and it works just fine after that. No issues.
Only other issues i have run into would be a minor crash to desktop after a few hours, and some very light stuttering here and there. Functions perfectly offline otherwise.
No idea how to get Multiplayer working as of now (if there is even a way to.) But this method has worked for me and a friend.
Periodic crashes. Friend and I noticed its when a lot of things are happening and you move the camera quickly. Game will full lock up consistently.
EAC restricting online play
go into the Elden Ring file location folder > Game
rename "start_prtotected_game.exe" to "start_protected_game.exe.backup" rename eldenring.exe > "start_protected_game.exe"
Starts game without EAC failure. OFFLINE ONLY.
Elden Ring and Shadows of the Erdtree work as intended out of the box on Nvidia/Wayland better than windows. 12-15 fps more than Windows.
Multiplayer and mods work as well. Co-Op mod with windows players functioned as intended.
Inscryption Demo goes to open, then black screen and process fails after a minute or two with a crash to desktop.
Using GE Proton driver. I have tried Proton 6-3 to Proton 5, no change in behavior.
As long as you use the proton listed it works flawlessly. With Proton Experimental I noticed frequent crashing in the Labyrinth in game.
PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060"
Alt Tabbing can sometimes cause a strange lag. About 0.5 second between your mouse movement and what happens on screen. This has happed 3-4 times over almost 100 hours. Its not common but should be mentioned.
Works pretty good especially after the 8/10/23 update. I use FSR and the frame rate stays around 70-80 on my machine. There are a lot of dips to the low 40's in some areas but this is also apparent on windows. (tested on Win 10 GPU passthrough. Same experience)
With proton experimental i can use DLSS but I had quite a few crashes in main lobby areas while the game was loading. With FSR this issue has not appeared. It does seem that the older version of proton is more stable when compared to current GE or Experimental.
Game runs better with DLSS until it doesnt anymore. FSR and Old Proton is your best bet for now.
Works as intended. From what I am hearing from some of my friends, its working better for me on linux than it is for them on Windows.
In world tour the game would crash every few minutes. I was able to fix this by changing the internal resolution to 1 in the in-game options under graphics. After changing the internal resolution to 1, the crashes in world tour have stopped.
Online is so good, even fighting opponents on Wi-Fi it feels like they're right next to you. Its crazy.
By far the best Street Fighter ever made and it works flawlessly on linux. I could not be happier.
Also, if you know someone on the fence about learning fighting games, recommend this game to them. Tell them to stick with the World Tour mode until they beat it, then give MP a shot. World Tour really does make the mechanics of fighting games easy to understand and makes the training enjoyable in ways i didnt think possible.
Basically, turn your internal resolution to 1 when playing World Tour, crank it up for multiplayer/online and you will be having a blast!
Played co-op during the beta and had no issues outside of the known issues with the beta. Even playing net-connect using the in game debug menu worked, same as with Steam Remoet Play.
Worked out of the box. Changed to experimental, launched with Vulkan, and saw a huge FPS increase over DX11 and DX12.
Vulkan has the best performance for me (GTX 3060) and no issues outside of that. Experienced 1 crash but I think that was on steams end. I have played for around 18 hours with no issues. Both in Lutris, and in Steam.
