Chat doesnt work
Some minor latency issues but this may be attributed to network rather than proton layer.
Followed user Stiffler advice and did the following:
- Choose a version of Proton and force it (will only swap Linux executables for windows .exe files)
- Browse the local files of the game […]/steamapps/common/Crusader Kings III/
- Inside the “launcher” directory DELETE the dowser.exe (this is the launcher)
- Go into the “binaries” directory and RENAME ck3.exe into dowser.exe
- Copy or Move all files from the binaries into the launcher directory
I launched first time using Proton and following user Stiffler advice, i have not tested it without their tweaks.
Playable (with stutter) on Proton, Runs better with Native
High framerate, runs well but a fair amount of micro stuttering, persistent indoors and out.
The game runs perfectly smooth, high framerate, max settings on Native. No need for Proton, as this seems to create micro-stuttering
Works perfectly
Initially loading in to my game save took a few seconds of stutter
Game runs perfectly fine right from the get-go. Resuming old saves that were previously created from my Windows play-through worked too.
Works great out of the box
No issues, game ran great first time. (using Proton Experimental). Performance is solid.
Framerate unplayabley low
Full screen and borderless worked, however the game crashed when switching back and forth twice
Menu and character customisation is fine, starting cutscene and in game was 7-8fps, regardless of graphics settings.
Crashed during second switch to broderless
I'm sure given some tweaks perhaps it could get to a state where the framerate is playable considering the main menu and character customization was perfectly fine.
Runs Flawlessly
Game ran exceptionally well. It actually surprises me how smooth it all is.
I couldnt notice any performance difference between Proton and Windows.
