Don't have a clue on how to run the settings.exe in the proton enviroments for the game so default options but it works perfect.
Works but only if you copy the eac from paladins. Install both games, launch them borh (cancel any dotnet intall prompt). Paladins will run, Smite will close itself. Go to /home/YOURUSERNAME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Paladins/Binaries/EasyAntiCheat/ copy everything but the launcher folder to /home/YOURUSERNAME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SMITE/Binaries/EasyAntiCheat/ (overwrite). Now from /home/YOURUSERNAME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SMITE/Binaries/EasyAntiCheat/ copy the 2 dll files to /home/YOURUSERNAME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SMITE/Binaries/Win32/EasyAntiCheat/ and /home/YOURUSERNAME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SMITE/Binaries/Win64/EasyAntiCheat/ (overwrite). At this point smite should run but first use protontricks to install dotnet40 for both games (smite and paladins or just smite if u don't plan on keeping/playing paladins) and change the windows version to windows7.
It won't launch after install. Setting launch options to "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%" will let you run the game but you'll still have "white" textures.
