PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 gamemoderun %command%
after switching to experimental and using the mentioned launch commands this ran perfectly
gamemoderun %command% --skip-launcher --vulkan
switching from Wayland to X11 and DX11 to Vulkan fixed all of my stuttering issues and lowish framerate respectively
I also noticed my GPU getting higher temps than it did on my old Windows install, but I'm unsure how accurate that is.
Wasn't able to load server list.
Other CS games, namely CS:S, didn't have this issue for me.
Works flawlessly, save one significant windowing bug.
Alt-tabbing out of fullscreen caused one half of the screen to become completely frozen, rendering the game unplayable. Only way to fix was to exit out of the game.
runs flawlessly with zero tinkering whatsoever
surprisingly, i didn't even have to tinker with the audio device settings lol. also worked perfectly running mods through r2modman
because of the videos this game has the largest shader cache on my computer lol
major windowing issues
windowing is a mess on my setup. i'll basically just have to play around constantly going in and out of fullscreen until it magically works. half the time it recognizes my 1920x1080 monitor as 3000x1080, and I couldn't get launch options to work to try and launch it in 1920x1080. eventually though it will work and I'll have it fullscreen, it just takes far too much effort. note that i do use wayland and hyprland
the windowing problems are the only hiccup with this experience. note that i did play with jgrpp, but i still had the windowing issues when playing vanilla.
MIDI didn't work at first under wine, but can be fixed by installing fluidsynth, a soundfont of your choice (gm.sf2 usually), and having a script that runs "fluidsynth -a pulseaudio /path/to/sf2" at startup
Works perfectly with just one click.
Was able to drag mouse pointer out of fullscreen.
The fullscreen issue wasn't a huge deal either way, as I only found myself dragging off screen one or twice.
gamescope -w 2560 -h 296 -W 2560 -H 296 -b -- %command%
game doesn't work as intended, even with above gamescope launch option. you won't be able to do things in the background, and even if you're okay with that, part of the screen is still covered up by a black bar.
your enjoyment will vary depending on how you planned to play this game. the game itself runs fine, but the main draw of it doesn't work
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" WINE_CPU_TOPOLOGY=5:0,1,2,3,4 gamemoderun %command%
the DLL override is just for mods to work, so that can be omitted if you are playing vanilla
Shadows not rendering correctly
Changing from fullscreen would cause a crash with fullscreen unable to be initiated again without crashing
DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command% -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -NOTEXTURESTREAMING -nomansky -nojoy
fullscreen is started on my other monitor despite it being set to my primary one, but just moving it over fixes it
as stated in another report, most important launch argument is definitely "-NOTEXTURESTREAMING", otherwise textures look reaaally shit
-screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080
Default resolution was 640x480 which could only be resolved through custom launch options. Also was windowed by default and had to alt+enter to play in fullscreen since (from what I can tell) there are no options in game to do so.
Game would crash semi-frequently when typing in chat. Sometimes it would just crash the game, and others it would crash my computer.
