As recommended by other people, I followed instructions in this reddit post and comments.
Here's a TL;DR that should work for most people:
git clone https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-installcab.git && cd mf-installcabWINEPREFIX="(my steam folder)/steamapps/compatdata/1158850/pfx" ./install-mf-64.sh(if prompted click "install")- Download wmvcore.dll, mfperfhelper.dll and wmasf.dll, all 64 bit, newest versions should work.
- Unzip and move the files downloaded in step 3 into your game directory, where TGAAC.exe is.
- Launch the game through steam with Proton 6.3-8.
