Corpse Limit set to Normal
Make sure to install the windows version as this is the better version, but using the current Steam Proton or Proton Experimental leaves the game with low FPS (low 20s at best). Once I switch to GE Proton I began getting consistent 60fps.
No issues when playing multiplayer and I have not experienced any glitches. Game runs pretty perfectly. Tons of fun with gyro controls.
I have most of my settings on "Normal" to conserve steam deck battery life which gets me around 3 hours on a charge. Be able to get more if limited to 30fps and Half Rate Shading enabled.
Unfortunately this game is not really playable on Steam Deck.
I was unable to launch the game on the latest version of Proton. GE Proton and Experimental did manage to launch the game. It would run great and be a lot of fun until you get a hard crash after aorund 20 mins of gameplay.
This time frame varies, but it's guaranteed to happen sooner or later and it's can be very frustrating to crash during an exciting moment. Pretty disappointing.
Gameplay is fine, however cutscenes do not function in any version of Proton or ProtonGE that I tried.
Cutscenes are unable to play.
The game runs fine, mostly stable 60 frames and the resolution has visible text. The game also has controller support - however you can only use one type of control at a time, which means its awkward to set gyro as mouse. Unfortunately, the cutscenes cannot display at all. You can notice this immediately on startup as even the game company logos cannot be seen, instead they are replaced with color bars and static. I tested on Proton 7, 8 and experimental as well as GE versions of each. This means that if you care about the narrative or 40k lore, you might want to wait for a fix or watch the cutscenes separately online.
Running the game at 60fps will give you about 2 hours of battery life.
