TDP Limit 4: GPU: 600 800p 60fps (when loading a zone sometimes there's some stutter) = 9W = 5h of gameplay
When the Unreal Engine's license pop up, you need to accept it using the desktop mode otherwise the you will not be able to do it, afterwards you just can play on gamemode as usually.
When launching the first time, you cannot get past the license windows, you need to use the desktop mode to accept it
Besides the license window and the layout that only shows a keyboard and a mouse, you just can play it normally. I guess it's a perfect game for the Deck, I just like 60 fps but since it's a puzzle game I guess you can limit it to 30fps and get more than 5h like me.
It installs OK, when you launch it the launcher before going into game it works, the touchscreen is nice and such but after hitting "play" the game just crashes because of a missing file, I think it is a "dll" but I cannot read the name of it just because the game occupies half the screen and it's above the message.
Tried with proton which Steam suggests, experimental and 7.0-1.
People says it just works but yes and no for me, sometimes the game just says "cannot connect to the server" and exits.
TDP Limit - 5 GPU limit - 600 60 fps = 2h 40m ~ 3h of gameplay
Stuttering on cinematics. When loading a new zone, the FPS drops form 60 to 16.
When the deck is sleeping (click the power button to sleep the deck), if it's looses connection to Internet, the game will exit to the menu with the message "Cannot connect to the server".
When there's an error with the server it says "cannot connect to server" and just exits to the menu. Even when having WiFi connection there's this error.
I wish it was a great piece of cake to play with but after installing GE-Proton (the game starts and with TDP limited to 5 and GPU to 600 you can get 60fps and almost 3h of game) even being near the router and connected to a 5GHz WiFi the game just throws you a "cannot connect to the server" and exists to the menu without saving properly making you lose all the progress.
The videos plays on 30 fps but there's stuttering, even tho they feel nice to watch and hear. When the game is loading a new zone, the fps drops drastically from 60 to 16 fps (if you don't limit the TPD and/or the GPU is not that aggresive but is there too).
I've tested with the proton that Steam suggests, proton experimental, proton 7.0-1 and GE-Proton7-10 and Steam has the same behaviour with all of them, you can listen to the game running in the background but Steam it's just "loading the game" with the only option to press "b" to abort the launching.
To go to the menu and be able to mark "play with a controller": Change the right trackpad to "Mouse" and its click to "Left mouse click", after that change just enable and now you can play as a xbox 360
For default the game applies a 1024x768 resolution, change it to 800p resolution and mark the "play on window" then the game will be full screen already.
When new zones are loading the FPS go from 60 to 20
Besides the trackpad being the mouse and the slowdowns when new areas are loading, the game feels good and plays nice, 60 fps with no caps on TPD and GPU frequency it consumes around 12W = 3h10m~ of gameplay on high so a great choice to play on.
When you launch it, the launcher of the game will tell you that this device is not capable of playing this game, just click accept, put it con 720p + (medium + high) and you'lll get a consume of 17W~ = 3h of gameplay at 60 fps (remember you can do it on the launcher or inside the game). When you try to set all to ultra at 800p even on high, in the initial village the console cannot handle it, and remember to set the antialiasing to off so it doesn't hit the performance too much.
It runs smooth, 800p, all high and AA disabled. Around 15W~ of consume. It looks great, it plays great.
DirectX doesn't get to install.
Tried with proton that Steam suggests, then experimental, proton 7.0-1 and finally with Proton 6.3-8, all of them do the same: after launching you can see "Darksiders" and all that trademarks logo and that's all.
After the trademarks, there is sound going on but the screen remains black if you try to move you can hear how you're navigating through the menu but the screen still black.
Start the game, and then just keep spamming "A" button on Deck, suddenly your in the game but the hud is missing and when you pause the game there's no menu but you can hear how you move around the options.
Seems like cinematics, menu and such doesn't render at all.
When drinking a beer the game renders some green pixels that disappear after the drunk state it's over.
When entering to a new area the games sets "Checkpoint saved" but if you quit to the menu and click on "continue" the game will set you on the start of the area that you were playing before, sometimes seems like it works other times it doesn't. It have made me lose progress from all the area I've already beaten.
Sometimes, when there are a few enemies on the screen the game stutters and cannot keep the 60 fps (all of this playing on 800p and in high res)
The green pixels while drunk doesn't affect too much to the game, the only bad thing is the save data that makes you lose progress. It's a shame because you don't really know if it has been really saved or not.
In Megaton, when you choose to help Moriarty, go and get or not his money and when coming back to the bar, the game will start to struggle and when you speak to anyone, the game just crashes. No errors, no window, nothing. The game just freezes and you have to restart.
After playing a while, sometimes the game start to struggle, the struggle becomes in stuttering and suddenly it just dies. You have to restart, for now I've only found it on Moriarty's bar.
