works fine. used proton tricks to install d3dcompiler_43, d3dx9_43, d3dx9, mfc80 and vcrun2005.
No need to download 8GB for halflife 2.

virpil hotas required protontricks >explorer>control panel>enable sdl and disable hidraw both checked. also requires regedit fixes, easily found online
may be a "tinker" report, but the tinkering was very minor, and most probably don't need to. Using the latest kernel. my build stats are out of date.

Make sure to update(or maybe downgrade?) your GPU drivers. I had nothing but issues with nvidia 535. 550 seems quite stable so far. And to those using nouveau, switch. Pretty sure that's your issue.
only the normal ea bugs the occur on windows too.
Everything works great out of the box. VR is the only issue I'm having, staying centered. And it's not an issue with the game. (samsung oddessey + with monado, openhmd, openxr-sdk etc compiled from source) But still quite enjoyable. After hours upon hours of setup.
