Game freezes up after moving in-game

The game allows creating and loading saves, but moving in the in-game area causes the game to freeze up and disrupts the OS (only audio output is the game, screen is stuck on a single frame both in windowed and fullscreen mode, no input is registered).
Game is in VS1 at the time of posting.
