Tried to fix the movies. First tried what I did for sf4 which involved these steps:

1. Install "quartz" and "devenum" using winetricks or protontricks.
2. Install K-Lite_Codec_Pack the basic version, use options "Advanced" and uncheck "show tray icon" there are 2 checkboxes (if you dont do this, the game will be minimized when a video is showing)

The above didn't work so I did the following:

Installed media foundation and windows media player 11 via protontricks. (media foundation is listed as mf and windows media player as wmp11) Also installed xvid(probably not needed)

The videos worked perfectly after this. (sound lined up with the subtitles)

Followed the recommendations here to manually adjust the config so I could run in windowed mode. Worked fine after that
