Launched successfully after a uplay initial login and restart. Game loaded correctly all functions working. Unfortunately camera spins in clockwise direction until forward movement is used then camera acts normally. Similar situation to subnautica camera spinning issue experienced by a few (including me).

minor fps drops in busy areas nothing game braking
Required use of ge version 7 or above for smooth fps was juttery and large fps drops when moving from different areas or cutscenes under stock proton (6.3-8 at the time of writing). Added DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command% to remove the final fps drops and stop audio sync issues with character dialog. Had to set the graphics setting to low to maintain 60fps but the game gfx are similar to high settings on some other games so is still very pretty :)
worked as it should on a minor controller conig issue not being detected
Controller was not detected but changing the controller settings in the properties for the game to disabled steam input made the controller correctly detected.
The game works as it should only one stop and start was needed at begining due to the ea app not launching the game after initial setup but on next start it worked as it should. Controller was not detected but changing the controller settings in the properties for the game to disabled steam input made the controller correctly detected.
Audio dissappeared randomly
Minor fps drops that most people encounter
Crashed when starting new game. Update of mesa sorted that issue.
After updating to mesa 23.1 as others have stated and switching to experimental it's stable and i didn't experience any other crashes or instabilities.
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%
Changed value of set render_system "dx12" to dx11 in steamapps/common/Riftbreaker/conf/initial_config_win.cfg
Crashes almost immediately in main menu or after loading into map but with dx config change is stable
Needed to change from dx12 to dx11 which had to be done in the config file as the configuration tool wouldn't show it just started the main game. Using PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command% as others have stated not sure if that is still nessecary. Config file needed to change dx version is in steamapps/common/Riftbreaker/conf/initial_config_win.cfg. change value set render_system "dx12" to dx11 after this it is stable and a great game.
It was an install and play scenario no tweaking of config or settings required all worked out of the box.
Only used local multiplayer (hosting seperate dedicated network on lan) but worked as expected. All listing for online servers do show in the server browser so would expect that to work correctly to.
