Crashing not even 20 minutes into a new save.
Fullscreen works fine at 1920x1080. Other resolutions causes the game's window to appear malformed, for example 1280x720 displays a window of that size while its contents are off-center & the window fails to become properly fullscreen.
Before I could even get the game to launch I had to prepend "PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1" onto the launch options. Before doing that I tried using Proton-GE, to no avail, until I ended up launching & staying with Proton Experimental. I have mods enabled:
- Compressed Textures
- Dark UI
Cannot enter my first town because of relentless crashing at roughly the same time, every time. My Steam playtime for this game is wholly inaccurate due to Steam thinking the game is still alive after crashes, or failing to launch (properly) initially when I first installed the game. So those 2.3 hours Steam is saying is more like 10 minutes of actual interaction with the game.
I think it's shocking this game is rated Platinum here. This crashing just ain't acceptable. Maybe if I had better hardware it would be ok, but still, the game should not be crashing. I'm running the game on the lowest graphical settings I can possibly choose - the game runs absolutely fine at the time, until it very suddenly chooses to not run at all...
Trying to use fullscreen with any resolution that isn't 1920x1080 results in a malformed window, cutting off a lot of what should be visible.
Experienced consistent crashing, as in my last report. What fixed it was verifying the integrity of the game's files with Steam. Two files were checked & downloaded, now the game has been working fine since. (no crashing whatsoever for at least 30min of playing)
My launch options for this are now:
- gamemoderun __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
The game will not launch without setting PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1.
