Runs perfectly (60fps) after a little extra work. This verifies a previous gold report.
1: Install game
2: rm -Rf ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/abyss_odyssey/_CommonRedist/DotNet
3: rm -Rf ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/abyss_odyssey/_CommonRedist/vcredist
4: Attempt to launch game. It won't run. This is expected.

7: run game
It's a little buggy. I've had it not load, or it crash while bringing up the steam dash baord. However, once in game (story or arcade) it runs great.
After disabling D3d11, game would play. Otherwise, it only showed a black screen with audio in the background (intro credits). No man menu displayed. I got a crash during the performance test on full detail settings. Otherwise, it ran and played flawlessly.
Install and Play. Mouse movements seem a little inaccurate. They drift. It's more noticeable when zooming in to shoot. I'm not sure if that is the way the game is designed or if it's a problem with proton/wine.
Doesn't run with Proton 4. Follow all other work arounds listed here, but make sure you set proton version to the latest 3.x (or try one until it works).
Loaded and played fine on Vive without any extra tweaks. Could not exit game either through the menu or through VR dashboard. Had to force close the game and steam. Otherwise, works well.
Install. Play. 60FPS at 4k and max detail in first tutorial.
Install game. Add -force-glcore (for opengl 4.5. you can also use -force-opengl for legacy opengl if you need to) to launch options and launch the game. Entering and leaving menus and consoles can cause the mouse to lock up or behave erratically. You can alt-tab to fix it, but I usually restart when it starts happening. If this didn't happen, it would be gold. Otherwise, it runs quite well.
- Install Game
protontricks 611670 xact
- set launch paramaters:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="xaudio2_7=n,b" %command%
- Launch Game
Game works well after doing the above.
Performance is a bit behind Windows. In proton, I cannot play on full details with the SteamVR resolution at 100%. I can in windows. Some tweaking from full is required for smooth gameplay.
